Happy Easter from Community Covenant Church of Goleta!
Welcome to another meaningful week at Community Covenant Church! This Sunday, we're especially excited to gather together on the back lawn as we celebrate Easter as a church family.
Before we get to the details of what's coming up, The members of our Leadership Board want to thank each and every one of you for attending our annual meeting last week!
We are filled with thanksgiving for God's ongoing goodness to our congregation through the time you give to our shared ministry, the talents you offer, and for releasing your treasures to sustain the Kingdom work God is doing both here and abroad.
We are thrilled to share that we are ending our year with a budget surplus! We praise God for his generous supply and your faithful giving. Our good Father has wonderful plans for us as we continue to love God, follow Jesus, and serve others.
This Sunday is Easter Sunday, and we're looking forward to gathering together on the back lawn to celebrate the hope we have in the risen Jesus. It's a day to worship, to celebrate stories of life change, and to remember all that Christ has done. Following the service, we'll continue the celebration with a time of fellowship and our Easter Egg Hunt for the kids!
God is moving at Community Covenant, and we encourage you totake a moment to explore the updates below and see where God might be inviting you next.
LIFE AT COMMUNITY COVENANT
Easter at Community Covenant Sunday, April 5 | 10:00 AM | Outdoor Service
Easter is a celebration of resurrection-of hope breaking through darkness and new life rising in the name of Jesus.
Join us for a special outdoor Easter service as we gather to worship, celebrate, and remember the hope we have in the risen Christ. Whether Community Covenant has been your church home for years or you're just beginning to explore faith, there's a place for you here.
We'll have chairs set up outside, but you're also welcome to bring a blanket and get comfortable.
Invite cards will be available at the Connect Table, so feel free to grab a few and invite a friend, neighbor, or family member to join you.
Let's come together with joy and anticipation as we celebrate the risen King.
Candidate for Pastor of Worship and Executive Pastor
Galen Dang
We are thrilled that Galen Dang will be leading us in worship on April 12!
After a lot of prayer and much discussion, our Worship Pastor Search Committee recommended Galen to our Leadership Board as their proposed candidate to join our pastoral staff. Subsequently, the Leadership Board held fruitful discussions with Galen, and formally selected him as its candidate to serve as our Worship Pastor and as our Executive Pastor.
Galen grew up in our church and is married to Hannah, another Santa Barbara native, and they have three children. Plan on being here on April 12. "O magnify The Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!" Psalm 34:3
Easter Egg Hunt This Sunday!
Our Community Covenant Easter Egg Hunt is happening this Sunday right after the service, and we can't wait to celebrate with you! Kids, be sure to bring your basket so you can be part of the fun. We'll have both a younger kids section and an older kids section so everyone can enjoy the festivities.
Thank you to everyone who picked up eggs to help make this year's Easter Egg Hunt special-we love seeing our church come together in simple, meaningful ways like this. Your small act of filling eggs is going to create a really fun and memorable moment for the kids in our church and community.
Thanks again for being part of it-we can't wait to see it all come together!
Easter Sunday Coffee & Fellowship
Looking for a great way to connect after church this Easter? We've got you covered.
Right after our 10:00 AM Easter Service, stick around on the back lawn-where the Easter Egg Hunt will be taking place-for coffee, tasty treats, and meaningful conversation.
This week the church is providing all the goodies, so all you need to do is show up, enjoy something sweet, and celebrate Easter with friends, family, and our church community.
This is a great opportunity to linger a little longer, connect with someone new, and rejoice in the hope we have because Jesus is risen.
Come enjoy fellowship, food, and the joy of resurrection morning-we can't wait to see you there.
Good Friday Update
As we journey toward Easter, Good Friday (April 3) invites us to slow down and stand in the tension of the cross. It's a sacred space-a moment to remember the cost of love and the depth of grace.
In past years, churches across Santa Barbara-including ours-have gathered for a shared Good Friday service. This year, that citywide gathering is taking a pause, and Community Covenant will not be hosting a Good Friday service of our own.
If you would like to attend a Good Friday service, we encourage you to join one of these neighboring churches:
• Santa Barbara Community Church - Friday at 7:00 PM
• Ocean Hills Covenant Church - Friday at 6:00 PM
Good Friday is a powerful moment in the story of our faith. Before we celebrate the joy of Easter Sunday, we pause to remember the sacrifice of Jesus and the love displayed on the cross.
Spring Concert Fundraiser - Supporting MomCo Goleta
Join us for a special evening supporting MomCo Goleta (formerly MOPS)
Enjoy a relaxed night with live music, dinner, childcare, and a silent auction featuring some great local businesses.
MomCo originally began here as Goleta MOPS, and today we still have many moms in our church who are part of it. It's been a real blessing in our community - offering encouragement, connection, and support in the season of motherhood.
If MomCo has impacted you, or if you simply want to invest in moms in our community, this is a great way to be part of what God is continuing to do through this ministry.
