Hello Community Covenant Church of Goleta!

Happy Ascension Day (5/14/26), marking the day of Jesus' ascension to take the throne after conquering Death. Hallelujah!

We come together this Sunday to continue in our quest to follow Nehemiah's great project, particularly as the opposition mounts. Fortunately, our hero shows us how to stand firm in our gospel work despite what may come against us.

God is moving at Community Covenant. As we move closer to celebrating Pentecost, we encourage you to take a moment to explore the updates below and see where God might be inviting you next.

College Age Lunch + Line Dancing | This Sunday!

If you're college age (or around 25 and under), this is for you.

This Sunday-Sunday, May 17, right after worship-we're gathering for a taco lunch out on the lawn, followed by some line dancing.

No pressure on the dancing part… some of us are still learning, but it's going to be a really fun, low-key way to hang out, meet people, and build some connection.

We'd love to keep you in the loop for things like this, so we're also putting together a group text for our college-age crew. If you haven't already, stop by the Welcome Tent this Sunday and drop your name and number.

Come grab some tacos, try a few dance steps, and spend time with good people.

Sunday, May 17 | Right after service

We'd love to see you there.

Please mark your calendar now, and feel free to invite a friend. This will be a sweet time to get to know one another better, and to grow deeper with the God who loves us more than we can imagine!

All Church Time of Prayer | May 24th After the Service

Join us on Sunday, May 24th, following the service at around noon, for a 30-minute time of corporate prayer.

This gathering will be a space for us to seek God together as a church family-praying for our church, our community, and our personal walks with Jesus in the year ahead. We'll begin with a guided time of prayer together, followed by an opportunity for anyone who would like to share a personal prayer request and be prayed for by others in our church family.

We believe there is something powerful about coming together in prayer-gathered, dependent, and expectant before God-and we would love for you to join us.

Sunday, May 24 | Right after service

We'd love to see you there.

Wise Financial Stewardship Seminar
Sunday, May 31 | 11:45 a.m. | Community Covenant Church

Money is more than numbers-it reflects what we value and tells a story about our lives. Join us following worship for a free seminar with Covenant Trust as we explore biblical financial stewardship, estate planning, and tax-wise giving. Together, we'll consider how to care well for those we love and create a legacy that honors God beyond our lifetime.

Lunch will be provided in the Media Room. RSVP for the lunch by Thursday, May 28th. Click the button below or visit the welcome booth.

Individual 45-minute consultations will be available Saturday, May 30, and are designed to help review your giving strategy, estate planning, investments, or overall financial picture in a thoughtful and confidential setting. Spots are limited. Click below to schedule a meeting!

Greeters and Usher Recruitment

At Community Covenant Church, one of the things we love most about Sundays is the way people are welcomed-through warm conversations, meaningful connections, and a genuine sense of belonging. Our greeting time and fellowship moments are a true reflection of that.

We're so grateful for our current greeter and usher team, who faithfully serve each week to help create that kind of environment.

As our church continues to grow, we're looking to expand this team-and we'd love for you to be part of it.

If you're interested in helping create a welcoming Sunday morning experience, we invite you to join us for a Greeter & Usher Open Gathering. This will be a simple, no-pressure time to learn more about what it looks like to serve in these roles and how you can get involved.

DATE AND TIME CHANGE: Sunday, May 31
9:00 AM In the Youth Room

If you have any questions, feel free to connect with Brandon Read, our Pastor of Students and Connections.

Book Club | May 27th

Do you like to read books and discuss your ideas with others? If so, please join the Community Covenant Book Club, which meets at 3:00 the last Wednesday of every month in the Media Room at the Church.

This month we will be reading two short works by Russian authors. We will be reading "The Grand Inquisitor," which is an excerpt from Dostoevsky's novel The Brothers Karamozov. We will also be reading Solzhenitsyn's classic short story Matryona's House.

The Grand Inquisitor is available for free at https://www.gutenberg.org. "Matryona's House" can be found in a collection of Solzhenitsyn's short works (Kindle or book store or library copy).

The Book Club is open to all. For more information, contact Jean Marie Schultz at jean_schultz@ucsb.edu.

? Need Prayer? We've Got You Covered! ?

Feeling overwhelmed or in need of extra support? We're here for you. Our prayer team would be honored to pray with you after the service-whether you're facing something big or simply need encouragement.

You can also submit a request through our Prayer Request Tool (see the blue button below). Every request is handled with love, care, and compassion.

Let's connect through the power of prayer. You don't have to walk this journey alone. ??
