There is a lot to be excited about this Weekend as it is our Outdoor Service and Bring Your Own Meat BBQ! For this Sunday we are also doing something different: Name Tags!
That's right - In our welcome booth we will have 4 name tag stations for everyone to write a name tag. You may see us do this from time to time, as it helps us connect! We will also be diving into Nehemiah!
Things change as we turn the page to Nehemiah 8 where the people submit themselves entirely to their ancient Scriptures. Isn't that the way it's supposed to be? Let's come to the Scriptures again this week and be prepared to change!
Remember! Bring a chair or blanket, some meat to grill up (or a picnic lunch if BBQ isn't your thing), a side dish to share, and come ready for a great Sunday together!

Outdoor Worship & Church BBQ This Sunday, June 7th | 10:00am | Community Covenant Church Back Lawn
Join us this Sunday for a special Outdoor Worship Service at Community Covenant Church of Goleta!
We're looking forward to gathering together on the back lawn for worship, teaching, fellowship, and a meaningful morning together as a church family.
After the service, stick around for a church-wide BBQ and potluck!
The church will provide drinks, plates, utensils, and BBQ grills. We're inviting everyone to bring:
• Meat for your family or group to throw on the BBQ (Picnic lunch ok too)
• A side dish or dessert to share potluck-style
• A chair or blanket for the outdoor service
Family Friendly Service - there will be no kids ministry this Sunday!
There will be lawn games, great food, and plenty of time to connect together as a church community.
And don't forget:
• Invite a friend or neighbor
• Come hungry
• Bring your own chair or blanket for seating
Please Note: Service will be held OUTDOORS at 10:00am on the CCC back lawn.

Ever wonder who the person who is sitting beside you is?
Keep forgetting someone's first name even though you KNOW you know them?
What a great way of building community - by making it easy for someone to walk up to you and call you by name!
We will have tags available for you at the picnic in our welcome tent as you walk up to church. So grab a name tag and a marker, write your name on the tag and wear you name tag proudly. Now you can walk up to both visitors and regulars confident that you can call them by name.

Memorial Service Saturday, June 13 | 2:00 PM Community Covenant Church Reception to follow
This service will be a meaningful time to reflect, give thanks for Carol's life, and support the Salzer family with our presence and prayers. Whether you knew Carol well or crossed paths with her previously here at Community Covenant, all are welcome as we come together in hope and gratitude.
Come join us in honoring Carol's life. There will be a reception afterwards in the Multipurpose Room.
Women's Retreat | June 6, 2026
The Women's Ministry Team of Community Covenant Church is planning our 2nd annual Women's Retreat with Andrea Gurney! We had an uplifting, encouraging, fruitful time with Andrea last October, and she has more to share with us, so we have invited her to be with us again. ?
This retreat will be held on Saturday, June 6 from 9-1. (It will end with a lovely lunch together.)
Please mark your calendar now, and feel free to invite a friend. This will be a sweet time to get to know one another better, and to grow deeper with the God who loves us more than we can imagine!

As we head into the summer season, we're excited for a special opportunity for our kids and families to worship together as a church community. Beginning Sunday, June 14th, Kids Check-In will move to the Welcome Tent for the summer, and our kids will join the congregation for musical worship before heading to their classes.
We love creating space for the next generation to see and experience the church worshipping together-singing, praying, and gathering as one family in Christ. We believe these moments help shape and disciple our kids as they learn what it means to follow Jesus alongside the larger church community.
Leadership Board Update
Much has happened in the life of our church since our Annual Meeting in March! The Leadership Board wants you to be informed about recent developments and upcoming events. So please take a few minutes to read these updates about our church family, and use them as an impetus for prayer - prayers of gratitude for what God is doing, and prayers of petition for what we seek of Him.
Besides loaning books from our library for anyone interested, we now have books available that you can keep! Thanks to a generous donation, we have a selection of books on a table in the Fireside Room that you are free to take.
If you have a Christian book in good condition that you would like to add to the donation table, please contact Janice at Janice@comcov.org to arrange a drop-off.
