You can take North Park Theological Seminary courses in Santa Barbara, California. You can now earn a certificate or degree through courses offered in your own Covenant conference, combined with courses taken online and one- or two-week intensives in Chicago. Depending on the degree program, you will take 21-30 credit hours at North Park to fulfill residency requirements.
For those interested in credentialed ministry in the Evangelical Covenant Church, the four survey courses in church history, New Testament, Old Testament, and theology offered at these regional locations are part of the basic requirements for licensing and eventual ordination. In addition, courses in Christian formation, church leadership, evangelism, intercultural ministry, pastoral care, and preaching will be offered on a regular basis.
Course Format
You register before the start of each semester. Coursework begins at the start of each term.
* Pre-class: Reading, papers, exams, and online discussion at home
* Classroom instruction: Three to five full days of intensive lecures and interaction
* Post-class: Papers, exams, and ministry-related final projects to solidify what you've been learning
* Throughout: Follow-up with instructors via online interaction, phone, or videoconferencing

Details
Courses can be taken for credit at a 40% discount (about $855 each in 2011) or audited for $125. To earn credit, you may apply for admission as a visiting student.
These courses are not the same as those offered through Covenant Orientation. However, they can be counted toward the equivalent of a year of studies at North Park to fulfill the orientation requirement.
